BALANCE: These days most of us are juggling a myriad of roles and responsibilities 24/7. True balance comes from a sense of inner strength, knowing, resilience, courage and power. We work with our clients to achieve and maintain their own personal sense of balance and equilibrium. We focus on energy management, stress management, and life management including planning, goal setting, decision making and managing priorities.

However, life just doesn’t hold still while we try to achieve perfect balance! Balance isn’t static so we build in flexibility and resilience with our clients. When life balance shifts our client’s know how to realign their priorities in response.

The result of working together is that you come to know what you really want and need in your life by exploring all of your personal environments – home, work, family, school, friends, finances, relationships, relaxation and recreation. BURNOUT: Burnout leaves you exhausted, depleted of energy, stressed to the max and feeling trapped. Burnout comes from unrelenting chronic stress or from dealing with a situation that is draining you of all your resources. Burnout can be experienced in every area of life and can result from varying life situations. It’s important to note, burnout doesn’t only effect professionals, almost anyone can be at risk for developing burnout.

If you are experiencing burnout or chronic stress our goal is twofold: first we will deal with the immediate impact of burnout on your whole life and your health and second, we will work with you to develop a new lifestyle designed to maximize your energy, deal with stress effectively, and avoid burnout in the future. The biggest change you will make is to resolve patterns & beliefs, both past and present, that add to your stress and hold you back.

WOMENS’ LIVES: Dealing with women and the complexities of their lives has been, and continues to be, our life’s work. Our education and experience has been tailored to understanding and helping women improve the quality of their lives. Our focus both academically and clinically has been on women’s psychology, women’s issues and personal development. From presenting seminars, designing therapeutic programmes, teaching & training, and in our private practice, we’ve successfully worked with it all: self-identity, personal renewal, relationships, family issues, eating disorders, depression, stress & anxiety, life transitions, aging, surviving life shocks, burnout, and balance.

Our work empowers women to understand and feel good about who they are and to pursue what they want and need in life. We support and encourage our clients to reinvent and reenergize their whole lives. We believe in women’s power to create lives that truly reflect their dreams, goals, and aspirations.

 


EATING DISORDERS: We have worked with women with eating disorders since 1982 as therapists and educators. We are proud of our success with many, many clients who have gone on to live rich, successful and fulfilling lives. We see the eating disorder as a symptom of the bigger picture, and so we focus on the person and not the disorder.

If you want to work with us privately, you need to be truly ready to make big changes in your life, have already given up many destructive patterns, and you need to be beyond thinking that food is the way to cope with life. We do not believe that recovery is a lifelong process. We are serious about our clients moving on with their lives and not looking back. If you are that serious about life without an eating disorder then we want to work with you.

 

Life after an eating disorder should only mean a life fully lived.
